Think you have to go to a trendy cafe or juice bar to get your hands on a delicious açaí bowl? Think again! Goji Açaí Bowl Recipe is easy and fun to make at home.
I love to treat myself to an açaí bowl in a cute café every once in a while, but since I eat them fairly often, it’s more economical and customizable to make my own açaí bowls at home. Plus, since moving to Kiel, Germany, I don’t have the option of going out and buying one! The açaí bowl craze has not yet hit this part of the globe (should I open a food truck?!). And maybe you’re in a similar boat, and the only way you’re going to get an açaí bowl is to whip one up in your kitchen.
Well, don’t worry! I got you. The secret to making açaí bowls just as good as the ones you get in cafes or from food trucks is having a powerful blender with a tamper. You essentially have to mush all of the frozen fruit down into the blender while running it at a low speed to achieve this kind of consistency. While you can use any blender, you will have to add more liquid to blend the ingredients, thus ending up with a slightly soupier bowl. But have no fear, it will still be delicious! And you can pop it in the freezer for a bit to create a firm surface for all of your toppings.
The recipe is simple and adaptable! Typically. when you get an açaí bowl from a restaurant, it is a carb/sugar bomb (for example, the açaí bowl from a popular chain juice bar contains 101g carbs and 65g sugar). When you make your own bowls at home, you can control the nutritional content! I often add collagen to my bowls to add some protein, and sometimes sub some of the frozen fruit for frozen steamed cauliflower or yellow squash.
The most important thing is to get creative, play around with the ingredients and toppings and have fun! Check Goji Açaí Bowl Recipe below.
